Elementary(K-6)

Stuffed Suns

The students will identify several ways that the sun's energy is of benefit to us.

Save Energy with Power Bear

The student will learn how to save energy with the Power Bear.

Controlling consumption

The student will analyze the effects of conservation, as compared to unlimited consumption, on the life expectancy of energy resources.

Wasting Energy at Home

The student will be able to identify ways energy is wasted, list ways to conserve energy in the home, and categorize home appliances as heavy, moderate, or light users of energy.

How Much Energy Do You Use?

The student will be able to observe the items that use energy in their own homes, calculate the energy cost for their own homes, and compare this cost with others in their class and with the national average.

Intermediate(7-9)

Energy Awareness Quiz

The student will be able to identify actions that contribute to the greenhouse effect.

Energy Efficiency

Understand that, collectively, our daily routines can have a significant environmental and economic impact. Identify several ways to reduce energy consumption in the home. Analyze a set of data for possible energy wasting activities and use that information to design a solution that results in higher energy efficiency.

Energy Source Webquest

Students will learn about energy sources using web-based resources and create PowerPoint presentations to teach other students.

Climate Debate

Students will explore different theories and opinions about global warming. Students will learn to distinguish between scientific fact and personal opinions.

Pass the Sack

The student will be able to describe the difference between renewable and nonrenewable resources and explain how resources can be obtained.

Secondary(9-14)
